8 Achievable Self Care Ideas

You can't fill up from an empty cup!

You wouldn't expect your car to run without fuel, would you? So why do we feel that taking some time to re-energise is selfish? It's why people go on holiday - we need to recharge the batteries. In between holidays we also need "mini-breaks" and the best way to make the most of these moments is practising some self-care.

Self-care doesn't need to be elaborate either, you don't need to spend a ton of money or even leave the house if you don't want to. Self-care should always be achievable!

Here are 8 achievable self-care ideas for you to check out, hopefully, practice and benefit from.



Bath Bomb Bath Soak

Having a long hot soak with some meditation music playing with candles glowing is a wonderful way to unwind and clear your mind. Especially adding some gorgeous smelling products to take your mind to happier and positive places. 


Practice Yoga

It doesn't matter if you have never ever even tried yoga, you will always find a beginner’s class or a YouTube video to work for you. Just making the step to try it is the achievement. Yoga helps relax the mind, bring balance to your body and peace to your soul. 



As a strong believer in the practice of mindfulness, I highly recommend it as a great way to connect with some self-care. All it takes is 10 minutes a day and reset the mind of negative thoughts and gain perspective on everything going on in your life.

Call A Friend

It's not always easy to pick up the phone when you are feeling low and it's all too easy to want to shut the world out. Even if you don't want to talk about what's troubling you, stay connected to a friend by picking up the phone even if it's just a text. 


Play Music

Music has this magical and powerful way of taking you to places and conjuring up happy memories and emotions. A wonderful way to release stress, experience sadness or happiness.



Crying is good and our bodies were designed to do this as a release and it good for a sinus clear-out - so let the tears roll.

Get The Comfies On

It's all very well looking good, but if you feel uncomfortable that's not much fun. Don some baggy trousers and an oversized top whilst relaxing on the sofa watching your favourite Netflix series or reading a book.
